2. Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster

If you love the rollercoasters in Dollywood and are looking for similar thrill-seeking experiences, check out the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster in Pigeon Forge. It was the first mountain coaster built in the Smokies when it opened in 2013. It is one of the longest downhill tracks in the United States at over 1 mile. As for the ride itself, the coaster holds 2 people, and it is controlled by a hand brake. While you can go as fast or slow as you want, the ride reaches a maximum speed of 27 miles per hour.

3. The Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum

The Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum is an attraction in Gatlinburg that is off the beaten path. Learn more about two objects you probably see every day. It contains a collection of over 20,000 sets of salt and pepper shakers, all accumulated by one woman. She opened the museum as a way to share her passion with others. Look closely at all the details on each one. There are depictions of plants, animals, and even some of your favorite cartoon characters. You can even see sets from different time periods. There are many other interesting sights to see here, one of which is a giant salt deposit from the Great Lakes that is over 600 million years old. You can also learn more about peppercorn and where it comes from. If you get inspired, you can stop by the gift shop to get your very own unique salt and pepper shaker set.
