Did you see the celebrity who made her way to Pigeon Forge last week? Pop icon Katy Perry was on her way to her Nashville concert when she decided to make a stop at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge!
According to local news source, WBIR, Dollywood was aware of Katy’s visit, but she made it clear that she wanted to be treated like every other park guest, with no special treatment or circumstances.
From what we’ve heard, Katy and her dance team had a great time at Dollywood. While she was wandering through the park, she was spotted wearing a white cut off shirt, plaid shorts and Chanel suspenders. She managed to go through some of the day without being noticed, by pretending she wasn’t Katy. It didn’t take long for park guests to realize who she was, though!
Katy Perry at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge: What Did She Do There?
Here’s a few places she stopped while she was at the park, but like all park guests, she explored the entire park and rode a number of rides.
- Wild Eagle roller coaster
- Tennessee Tornado roller coaster
- Thunderhead roller coaster
- Dolly’s Closet museum
- Dolly’s Tour Bus Museum
- Country Fair area
- Robert F. Thomas Chapel
- Aunt Granny’s Buffet for a traditional Southern meal (explained in her tweet below)
After her day at Dollywood, Katy sent out a couple of tweets on Twitter. In the first, she ‘just done tore up Dollywood’s turkey legs & had a helluva country bumpin time!”
Don’t worry! If you missed seeing Katy Perry at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, it won’t be the last chance you have to spot a celebrity in the park! Whether it’s Dolly Parton, or the next chart-topping pop artist, celebrities are always visiting! You may get lucky and see someone while you’re there, too.
How to Save Money at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge
1. It’s easy to save money at Dollywood by avoiding the hefty parking fee. If you have a small group, it’s cheaper to park at Patriot Park at the main trolley station. From there, you can catch a cheap trolley ride that will drop you off right at the gate to the park.
Plan ahead for souvenir purchases. There’s so many great things to buy at Dollywood, and it can be overwhelming once you’re in the park. Take a few minutes before you arrive to decide exactly how much money you will spend at the amusement park, and do your best to stick to that plan throughout the day. Some families find it easier to allot a specific amount per person, so everyone knows exactly what they have to spend while in the park.
If you plan to visit Dollywood more than once during a season, you are best to purchase a season pass. The price of a season pass is less than 2 single-day admissions, so you will end up saving money in the long run.
Many people forget to pack their own camera, and end up having to buy a disposable camera in the park. Although it’s worth the memories, it’s a lot cheaper to pack your own camera than to purchase one once you are already in the park.
Dollywood has a great program: Arrive After 3, Next Day FREE. This means, if you want to visit Dollywood two days in a row, you can arrive after 3 the first day, and your same ticket admission will get you into the park the next day completely free.
