1. What to Expect
The Cloud Catcher Zipline Experience at Ober Mountain is a zipline tour that features the highest starting point of any zipline in the Smoky Mountains! Your journey begins as you ride the Scenic Chairlift to the peak of Mt Harrison at over 3,400 feet in elevation. Once reaching the top, you’ll set off on your zipline adventure that includes 3 separate lines and 4 parallel lines at each zip! This means that you can soar through the sky with up to 3 of your friends and family! The first zip is 3280 feet long and over 300 feet off the ground, the second zip is 1950 feet, and the third zip is 1470 feet - that’s over a full mile of zipline adventure! If you are new to ziplining or you have young children in your family, Ober Mountain offers a single-line zip that offers the same experience with a bit less adrenaline!
2. Ride Restrictions & Safety
The Cloud Catcher Zipline Experience offers a fully automated braking system and state-of-the-art equipment from industry leaders in Bonsai. There are also a few ride restrictions in place for your own personal safety! The minimum weight requirement is 80 pounds, while the maximum weight is 250 pounds. Closed-toe shoes are required, and riders should secure their loose clothing and hair before the start of the course.
3. Ticket & Location Information
There are two ticket options for the Cloud Catcher Zipline Experience, so you can choose between a single zip run ticket or a ticket that includes all 3 zip runs! You can access Ober Mountain by driving up Ski Mountain Road and parking in the paid lot, but keep in mind that there is limited parking availability on the mountain. The most exciting way to reach Ober Mountain is via the Aerial Tramway, a scenic tram ride with two 120-passenger counter-balanced cars that travel 2.1 miles to the mountain from downtown Gatlinburg!
