These flowers are so popular that a special Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage is held each year. This spring event in Gatlinburg features guided walks, exhibits and other learning opportunities that allow visitors to explore the region’s natural and cultural resources. You’ll have the opportunity to see the blooming wildflowers up close and learn more about the Great Smoky Mountains National Park!

2. Gatlinburg Wine Weekend

Wine-loves won’t want to miss this special weekend in Gatlinburg! Gatlinburg Wine Weekend showcases the best in Tennessee wine and food. On Friday, May 1, you’ll take a guided tour of Gatlinburg’s wineries and wine established. On Saturday, May 2, you’ll attend the Smoky Mountain Wine Fest, where wineries from all across the state will gather with samples of their wines, along with small dishes from the best restaurants in the Smoky Mountains. 3. Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament

The Spring Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament is perfect for people of all ages, from the kids to the adults. Before the tournament, more than 5,000 trout will be stocked in over 20 miles of streams. Enter the tournament for the chance to win over $10,000 in cash and prizes. If you love to fish then you won’t want to miss the chance to spend your spring vacation trout fishing in the Smokies! This is one of the most popular spring events in Gatlinburg and typically takes place the first weekend of April.

4. Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show

If you love visiting the Arts & Crafts Community in Gatlinburg, then you don’t want to miss this spring event. The Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community Easter Show is a 4-day event during which unique handcrafted gifts and products are placed on display and put up for sale. Demonstrations are even included in the event! The best news, however, is that this event is completely free to the public. You can browse all the incredible handcrafted items without paying a dime. Of course, you can show your support for the local artisans by purchasing some of the arts and crafts to take back home! The show is held each year the Wednesday through Saturday before Easter Sunday. You can attend the show any time from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
